Circular 2008-003 LRIT Requirements.

This Circular was first published in 2009 as 01-003-08 to highlight the requirements for the introduction of the LRIT system.  It is republished in this numbering system with minor editorial changes.

The Circular explains the application of the LRIT Requirements and the way that they will be implemented in Antigua and Barbuda.  It gives the addresses and contact details for the Authorised Testing Applications Service providers for Antigua and Barbuda ships and updates their addresses.

Circular 2012-013 Guidelines on Stowaways

This Circular was previously issued as 02-005-12. It is reissued without change under this new numbering scheme.  The Circular contains the current IMO guidance for owners, ship’s masters, ports and others on handling stowaway cases.  It supersedes the previous Directive on this subject which is withdrawn.

Circular 2012-012 EPIRB maintenance and registry

This Circular was previously published as 02-006-12.  It is reissued without change under the new numbering scheme.  It sets out the IMO requirements for inspection and testing of EPIRBS and it also explains the Antigua and Barbuda policy on EPIRB registry and the system that has been introduced for registration of EPIRBS fitted in A&B ships and contains instructions on how owners and managers may register their EPIRBS directly in the international system.

Circular 2012-011 Maintenance of Fire Fighting Equipment

This Circular sets out the content of the IMO guidance on inspection, servicing and maintenance of fire fighting equipment and systems in ships.  The guidance supersedes that issued previously and takes effect from 1st May 2013.   The text of the IMO guidance is attached to the Circular.

Circular 2012-009 Lifting Appliances

This Circular was previously issued as  09-002-12.  It is reissued with minor editorial changes and clarifications.  It announces the Lifting Appliances Directive and sets out guidance on the requirements for inspection and testing of lifting appliances for Antigua and Barbuda ships.

Circular 2012-006 ECDIS and Electronic publications (revised)

This Circular was previously published as  02-003-12.  It was re-published in December 2012 under this numbering scheme with minor editorial changes and clarifications.  It sets out the IMO requirements for mandatory fitting of ECDIS and it explains the Antigua and Barbuda policy on training for ECDIS and on carriage of electronic publications.

Circular 2012-004 Maintenance and Operational Readiness of LSA

This Circular  was previously issued as 02-004-12.  It is reissued without change under this new numbering scheme.  The Circular announces amendments to Chapter II of SOLAS that come into effect in 2014 and explains the Antigua and Barbuda requirements,  It also contains the Antigua and Barbuda policy on test launching free-fall lifeboats and it contains the text of the IMO guidance on maintenance and servicing of life-saving appliances.

Circular 2011-002 Lifejacket standards

This Circular sets out the Antigua policy on the application of LSA Code amendments covering life-jacket standards as far as existing life-jackets are concerned.  It was previously published as 02-002-11 and is reissued under this new numbering scheme with only minor editorial changes.
