Declaration of Familiarisation for Senior Officers

This Declaration is required to be signed by all senior officers as a part of their application for an Antigua and Barbuda endorsement. The Declaration confirms that the applicant is familiar with the Senior Officer’s Handbook which sets out the essential aspects of Antigua and Barbuda law and practice that senior officers need to be familiar with.

This is the essential guide to Antigua and Barbuda requirements for Senior Officers serving in Antigua and Barbuda ships. It contains the key information needed to meet the requirements of Regulation I/10.2 of STCW for officers at the management level under II/2, III/2 III/3 or VII/1 who must “have an appropriate knowledge of the marine legislation of the administration…” Senior officers applying for Antigua and Barbuda endorsements are required to read this guide, and to sign a declaration that they have done so as a part of their application for an endorsement. It is also recommended that senior officers keep this guide as a ready reference when serving in an Antigua and Barbuda ship.
