This Circular provides information in respect of the amendments to Chapter III of SOLAS that came into force on 1 January 2020 by the adoption of Resolution MSC.402(96) in 2016 and explains the Antigua and Barbuda requirements.

This Circular also provides information on the approval of liferafts with extended service intervals in accordance with SOLAS Ch.III regulation 4 and Ch. III regulation 20.8.3 which has been communicated to the IMO vide SLS.14/Circ.499

This provides information from the Government of Antigua and Barbuda on equivalent arrangements accepted under the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), 1974, concerning the approval of extended servicing intervals for inflatable liferafts, in accordance with regulations III/4 and III/20.8.3, as communicated through the International Maritime Organization.
